Eyelid & Orbit Surgery

“Expert care for the framework of your eyes. We treat the delicate structures that protect and support your vision.”

The eyelids and the orbit (the bony socket containing the eye) are essential for protecting your sight. When these areas are affected by injury, drooping, or growths, it can impact both your vision and your confidence. At Care Vision, we provide specialized surgical and medical care for these sensitive areas.

What is it?

This field of eye care, often called “Oculoplastics,” deals with the skin, muscles, and bones around the eye. Whether it is a blocked tear duct causing constant watering, a drooping eyelid that blocks your view, or a tumor in the eye socket, these issues require the precision of an eye surgeon.

Who is it suitable for?

  • Watery Eyes: If you are constantly wiping away tears due to a blockage.
  • Drooping Lids: If your upper eyelid has sagged so much it is hard to see clearly.
  • Eyelid Growths: If you have a lump or bump that isn’t going away with medicine.
  • Injury Cases: Anyone who has suffered a cut or blow to the eye area.
  • Irritated Eyes: If your eyelashes are scratching the surface of your eye due to eyelid positioning.

What does it involve?

Dr. Mukherjee performs a variety of procedures to restore the function and natural look of the eye area:

  1. Ptosis Correction: Surgical repair of “drooping eyelids” that interfere with vision or look tired.
  2. Entropion/Ectropion Repair: Fixing eyelids that turn inward (rubbing against the eye) or outward (causing dryness).
  3. Growth Removal: Safe removal of cysts, chalazion, or tumors on the eyelid or inside the orbit.
  4. Trauma Repair: Reconstructing the eyelid or socket after an accident or injury.

  5. Lacrimal Drainage System Surgery (DCR/DCT): Specialized procedures to clear or bypass blockages in the tear ducts to resolve chronic tearing and recurrent infections.

Are there any risks?

Eyelid and orbit procedures are very common, but because they are “plastic” in nature, they require careful healing.

  • Minor Swelling: It is normal to have some bruising or swelling around the eye for 7–10 days after surgery.
  • Natural Look: Our goal is always to make the result look as natural as possible while fixing the medical problem.
  • Painless Recovery: Most of these surgeries are done under local anesthesia, meaning you are awake but feel no pain. Recovery is generally smooth with the right ointments and drops.
